In our recent research we found that companies are still relying mostly on Excel based spread sheets for demand planning & forecasting. Another interesting fact that we observed that they have invested multi-million dollars behind implementation of legacy ERP solutions but still using Excel for demand planning. These legacy ERP solutions bring very beautiful benefits like processes streamline, integration and transparency but it has its own limitations like very complex, not flexible, costly and require lot of training.
FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare are few of the industries doing their business in intense cut-throat competitive environment and the success mantra for exceling in this scenario are lean supply chain cycle, resource optimization and just-in-time-delivery.
